Push yourself and your crew to your limits on the Lambay Challenge; a demanding 19km open-sea row circumnavigating Lambay Island off the coast of North County Dublin.
Now in its fourth year, the Lambay Challenge is an inclusive event open to all sea-going vessels including traditional wooden working boats, currachs, skiffs, singles, gigs and longboats.
The 2020 challenge will take place on September 19th 2020 at Rush Sailing Club, Dublin.
Detailed information regarding race time, schedule for the day and safety protocols will be posted closer to the time. The race itself will be followed by an afternoon of celebrations, prize-giving, BBQ and family fun at Rush Sailing Club.
Single boats are accepted but experience is essential. Please contact us for more information.
Tickets are non-refundable. If weather conditions on the day are unfavourable to reach Lambay Island, an alternative route or date will be scheduled.
From eight boats in its first year, in 2019 the event was fully sold out months in advance with over 30 boats at the starting line on the day. Crews from around Dublin and Ireland were joined by visiting boats from the US, UK, Netherlands and Denmark. For that reason, early booking is recommended if you are interested in taking part.
